Book Blurb:

Rushing to the family doctor to request an emergency home visit for his critically ill father, Dave and his friend Tim duck for cover behind a spreading bush when terrifying events unfold yards away.

Nothing so bizarre ever happened in their safe, quiet little Tennessee town of Springfield, but strangely, the place no longer looked like their neighborhood. It had an eerie, creepy feel to it, making the boys desperate to get back home quickly. But the strange world pulls them in deeper, enticing Dave to keep going and find a special physician to treat his father. Who is he? And how special?

The two teens rush headlong into danger and adventure, leaving you breathless as the mystery deepens and a simple, fifteen minute bike ride crashes into a realm that opens to only a select few, setting up for a breathtaking, incredible encounter in a stunning finale with more just when you think it's over. No brakes on this inspiring, chill and thrill story. It's not just out-of-the-ordinary, it's out of this world. (From Goodreads)

Review:

~I’d like to thank the author for sending me a free copy in exchange for my honest review!~

First of all, I can’t really say much about this one, as not to spoil anything, so this review will probably be shorter than usual.

Anyway, this was a good book. I loved that it started out really chill, and that a strong plot twist was brought in very soon to grab your attention. Also, the fact that this book is written by a female and is from a male perspective/POV, is well done. Of course, as I’m not a guy, I can’t say how realistic it is, but it seemed realistic enough. XD

All in all, I’d say this is a good book, especially if you’re someone who’s looking for a clean, upper-middle-grade thriller.

Things I Loved:

-It was realistically written

-There was a big plot twist at the beginning that grabbed your attention

Things I Didn't Love:

-It wasn't as fast-paced and didn't have as much action as I would've liked

In Conclusion:

This was a good book, definitely a great thriller for upper middle-grade readers.
