Review:
~I'd like to thank the author for sending me a free copy in exchange for my honest review!~
Ever read one of those books that once you finish, you're like "ok, woah, what just happened?", but in a good way? Yup, that's this one.
Urban Angel was quite a ride. There were angels, demons, temptations, and, most of all, choices. If this book had a "moral of the story", it would most likely be that all of our choices, no matter how big or small, have an impact. Whether that be praying for a friend at midnight or opening a gospel coffee shop, any one of the choices we make on a daily basis could be the means to change the world.
Here are also portrayed some of the world's current issues, such as drugs and it's repercussions. You're given a realistic glimpse of both sides, buyer and seller, and are able to understand the logic and all behind both, which was really interesting.
Urban Angel is very well written, and, as said before, while exploring some of society's common issues, it still holds firm to the Lord and strong, Christ-like values.
I'm looking forward to reading the sequel, as well as other books written by this author.
Things I Loved:
-Action packed and well written
-Tackles some modern-day issues from a Christian point of view
Things I Didn't Love:
-There were more references to sex than I would have liked
-It was a tad slow at times, mostly when it was in the angel's perspective
In Conclusion:
This was a deep, well-written thriller that I really liked!
Recommended?:
Yes!
This one sounds really interesting! I enjoy Christian or Christian-friendly fiction that still talks about the hard realities of life. Totally agree though, I don't like added sexual content beyond what's necessary.
